Education:

Rhode Island School of Design, BFA, Providence, RI. (June 2005)
Full tuition scholarship 2001-2005. Completed the BFA program in painting with a concentration in English. Designated as an honor student.

RISD Summer Extension Studies Program , Rome, Italy. (Summer 2004)
Completed a 6 credit course, in art history and painting.

Career Related Experience:

Painter, (2000 - present)
Provide freelance and commissioned portraiture, abstract, and landscape painting. Ongoing participation in gallery shows and auctions.

The Cambridge Montessori School, Cambridge, MA
Passport Primary Coordinator (September 2007 - present)
Providing administrative tasks, daily classroom responsibilities, and vacation programming coordination:


Visual Arts Specialist (June - August 2006 and 2007) Created art curriculum for 8 week Passport summer camp program at the Cambridge Montessori School for age groups ranging from 18 months to 12 years old. Provided direct, hands on instruction for ongoing individual and group projects, collaborative games, and unique personal experiences using myriad techniques and mediums which exposed children to various artists, movements, and periods in art, while exploring and developing personal artistic skills.
Upper Primary Extended Day Teacher (September 2006 - June 2007)
Providing primary extended day teaching for children ages 3 to 6 years, as well as, primary teaching/childcare services.   Position includes implementing educational, creative and interactive games, art projects, and activities for age groups ranging from 21 months to 6 years.  
Substitute (March 2006 - June 2007)
Aid teachers in day to day primary school routine. Also, periodically provide administrative and secretarial services.

Human Rights Campaign, Cambridge, MA (July 2005 - November 2005)
Administrative assistant to coordinator, Denise Grant, for the HRC annual New England Dinner and silent auction
Aided in organizing and coordinating the preparatory work for the auction including systematizing the art work, artist statements and biographies, writing artist biographies for catalogue entries, and various other administrative tasks.

Mass Audubon, Habitat Summer Camp, Belmont, MA (Summer 2004)
Art Instructor/Camp Counselor
Duties included care of children ages 6 - 10 years; including hands on teaching, and the coordination and implementation of educational and creative games, events, lessons, and art projects.

Belmont High School , Belmont, MA (March 2004 - present)
Substitute Art Teacher/Guest Lecturer
Provide substitute services, as needed, in the Art Department, grades 9 - 12. Also, present interactive and instructional lectures on various techniques, approaches, and skills for Advanced Placement I and II classes.

Wheeler School, Providence, RI (December 2003 - March 2004)
Art Teaching Assistant
Worked as a teacher's assistant for the art classes, grades K-5, three days per week. Position included teaching classes and researching art related subjects. Developed a project curriculum for the 4th and 5th grade classes. The curriculum focused on understanding the history and basics of impressionist and post impressionist painting while also developing students' personal painting skills.

Art/Poetry Teaching Assistant
Worked with a group of peers from RISD in teaching art and poetry to 2nd graders using various interactive games and creative projects.

American Trophy, East Providence, RI (October 2002- May 2003)
Studio Assistant
Duties included assisting local artists, Peter Cameron and Kristen Gossler; studio maintenance; custodial obligations; and the production of canvases, frames, and other necessary artistic materials.   Responsibilities also centered on commissioned t-shirt and trophy production for the company.

Assisted faculty in an art studio class for students ranging in age from 11-17. Duties included art supply maintenance and set up, communicating project guidelines to the students, and assistant teaching.
